Aoine Leathlá (Half day Friday)

On Friday, school will close at 11.45 for a staff meeting.
Nóta: staff meetings are held on the first school Friday of every month.
Nóta: Díolachán cáca will be held from 10.45-11.45 and then all children will go home.

We would like to begin our school year by making some effort to help the people of Pakistan following the terrible floods there. And so, we will host a cake sale this Friday 3ú Meán Fómhair from 10.45-11.45. (Nóta: All children will be going home at 11.45 because of half day for staff meeting).
We ask all families to bake some items for sale and we welcome all to the school from 10.45 to buy some items. All money raised will go towards Trócaire's Pakistan Flood appeal. We hope you can support this. GRMA.

Am dul abhaile (Rang Eilís)

Just to remind all:
First 2 weeks rang Eilís will go home at 11.45
Second 2 weeks rang Eilís will go home at 12.45

Then after this rang Eilís will go home at 1.25. Enjoy the settling-in period. Please always be on time. GRMA

Fóin Póca

Just an update on our old mobile phone collection with Jack and Jill foundation. To date we have collected 269 phones (grmíle). If we collect 300 we qualify for a new interactive whiteboard...so we ask everyone to search high and low for some more old mobile phones. Please place them in bosca in the yard.


Ranganna Fidil

Fiddle lessons will again be offered this year to children from Rang 1 upwards. Múinteoir Phil Callary will be our fiddle teacher again. Fiddle lessons will be held on 3 days a week (2 sessions each of these days) as last year and children will be organised by ability, into groups.
Fiddles can be rented from School or bought. Lessons will cost €4 per lesson so Term 1 (12 weeks – up to Christmas) will cost €48.
To get ourselves organised we will hold a Lá Clárú (registration day) on next Monday – Dé Luain 6ú M.F. from 2.30 – 3.00 and begin lessons in week beginning 13ú M.F.
Payment for Fiddle Lessons may be paid for on the registration day or on the first day of lessons.
Money for rent or purchase of fiddles is payable to the school.
Money for fiddle lessons is payable to Phil Callary.


Leabharlann – Déardaoin / Thursdays

Rang Karla / Eithne / Seán will begin visiting the local library again.
Rang Seán will start off this Thursday 2ú
Rang Eithne following Thursday 9ú
Rang Karla following Thursday 16ú. Etc.
