Ráiteas Aontaithe ón gcruinniú Bord
15ú Meán Fómhair 2009

The Bord Bainistíochta met on 15ú Mean Fomhair for the 1st meeting of this academic year.

Ba mhaith leis an mbord Fáilte Uí Cheallaigh a ghuí ar gach duine don scoil bhliain nua, go háirithe na páistí nua agus a muintire isteach go pobal scoile Gaelscoil na Lochanna.

The board would like to extend warm welcome to all, especially all the new children and their families to our school community.

The Bord wishes dea-ghuí and a speedy recovery to Muinteóir Eithne, who is still sick following a back injury last year. Go mbeadh biseach ort go luath, Eithne, táimid ag smaoineamh ort.

Aitheantas Buan / Permanent Recognition:
The Board is delighted to share the good news about permanent recognition from the Department of Education and Science. It’s been a long road but worth it. Now the Bord looks forward to joining in the celebrations of this very special occasion on 9th Deireadh Fómhair.

Polasaithe / Policies:
The policy on splitting classes is on the agenda for the next meeting.

Airgead / Finances:
The Bord approved a usual list of payments.
The accounts of the school year 2008/2009 are being prepared for certification.

Gairdín / Garden:
The Board wish to thank all parents involved with grass cutting and caretaking over the summer months.

Kilmalum:
The Board continued during the summer to seek an answer from the Department of Education and Science about the move. Any progress was depending on Permanent Recognition, so now that this has been secured, renewed pressure will be put on the Department, to ensure the move by the next school year.

Maratón:
The Board wishes to lend its full backing to our marathon runners, and to the great Fund Raising effort for Maratón 2009.

Plean Scoile / School Plan:
The Board heard plans for the continuing work on the school plan this year, which will include P.E., Visual Arts and English.

Flú na Muc / Swine Flu:
Plans to deal with any case of Swine flu among our community were discussed.

Ball Bord / Board membership:

The Board would like to say Go Raibh Mile Maith Agat agus Slán to Dan McCann who will leave the Board, and who has served at meetings for the past year. The process to replace Dan is underway.

The next meeting will be on 3ú Samhain
